Contraidications

You should not use Loxitane if you have allergy to it or to other similar medications; you take sodium oxybate, you have severe central nervous system depression, you are in coma or have been sedated.

Possible side effects

The most common side effects are constipation, blurred vision, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, nausea, stuffy nose, trouble sleeping, omiting, weight gain or loss.

Severe side effects incude Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); agitation; altered mental abilities, including lack of response to your surroundings; chills or persistent sore throat; confusion; dark urine; decreased urination; fainting or faintness; fast or irregular heartbeat; hyperactivity; increased saliva production; increased thirst; involuntary, uncontrolled muscle movements; menstrual changes; mental or mood changes; muscle twitching; numbness or tingling of the skin; restlessness; seizures; shortness of breath; severe constipation; slurred speech; staggering or shuffling gait; stiff or rigid muscles; sweating; tremor; unexplained fever; vision changes; yellowing of the eyes or skin.

Seek medical attention if one of the listed above symptoms occurs.

Drug interaction

Tell your doctor if you take the folllowing medicines:

barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital), narcotics (eg, codeine), or sodium oxybate ( GHB) because the risk of side effects, such as severe drowsiness, may be increased ;anticholinergics (eg, trihexyphenidyl) because side effects of Loxitane may be increased; benzodiazepines (eg, lorazepam) because side effects may be increased by Loxitane.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose of Loxitane, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Overdose

Symptoms of overdose include decreased urination; difficulty breathing; involuntary, uncontrolled muscle movements; loss of consciousness; seizures; severe or persistent dizziness. Seek medical attention immediately if you overdosed the medicine.

Storage

Common use

Lithobid is used to treat bipolar disorder. It stabilizes the mood and reduces extremes of behavior, restores the balance of neurotransmitters in the brain.



Dosage and directions

Take Lithobid by mouth twice a day or as prescribed by your doctor. Take it with o after meals to decrease stomach upset. Do not chew or crush the medication. Drink 8 to 12 glasses of water

each day and maintain a healthy diet with normal amounts of salt.



Precautions

It is very important to have the right amount of lithium in your body. Be careful, too much lithium can lead to such effect as nausea, dizziness, seizures, confusion, increased amount of urine, twitching, slurred speech, shaking of the hands, diarrhea. Before taking lithium tell your doctor if you are allergic to it, or if you have other allergies. Talk to your doctor for more details.



Contraindications

Tell your doctor of kidney or heart disease, hypothyroidism, urinary problems, Parkinson's disease, leukemia, seizures, severe sehygratation, any infections with high fever, skin disorder.

Lithobid can cause blurred vision and make you dizzy and drowsy. Do not drive, use machinery or do any activity that requires concentration of attention.Limit use of alcohol.

Before being operated on tell you doctor or surgeon that you are using this medication.

Elder patients can be more sensitive to this drug. It's not recommended to use the drug with pregnant women as it may cause harm to unborn baby. Also it is not recommended to use it during breastfeeding.



Possible side effects

Weight gain, increased frequency of urinating, drowsiness, tiredness, increased first and mild shaking hands. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: diarrhea, dizziness, vomiting, fever, confusion, slurred speech, unsteady walk, blurred vision, severe hand trembling (coarse tremor).

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur: fainting, vision changes, seizures, slow, fast or irregular heartbeat, swelling or pain of joint, pain or discoloration of finger ot toes, cold hands or feet.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching or swelling of the face, tongue, throat, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.



Drug interaction

Do not use Lithobid with the following medications: sibutramine.

Before starting the medication tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription herbal produvts which you can take, especially of: ACE inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs such as losartan, valsartan), bulk-producing laxatives (psyllium), calcitonin, calcium channel blockers (e.g., verapamil, diltiazem, nifedipine), desmopressin, other drugs for mental/mood conditions (e.g., chlorpromazine, haloperidol, thiothixene), methyldopa, metronidazole, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs such as celecoxib, ibuprofen, indomethacin, naproxen, piroxicam), anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine, phenytoin), SSRI antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine), theophylline, tricyclic antidepressants, diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide, acetazolamide.



Missed dose

If you missed a dose take it as soon as you remember. If it is 6 hours tell your next dose skip the missed dose and return to your usual schedule. Do not double the dose to catchup the missed one.



Overdose

If you suspect an overdose call to your local poison center or emergency room right away. Symptoms of Lithobid overdose include drowsiness, diarrhea vomiting, ringing in the ears, blurred vision, seizures, trouble walking, shaking, lost of consciousness.



Storage

Store at room temperature between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from moisture and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.

Buspirone is an antidepressant used to treat anxiety disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and social phobia. It can be also applied in other cases.

Common use

Compazine is an anti-psychotic medication which used to treat psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia. Also Compazine used to control severe nausea and vomiting and to treat anxiety. Compazine changes the actions of chemicals in your brain. Compazine is usually used as tranquilizer and antipsychotic drug.



Dosage and direction

Take it orally with a full glass of water, with or without food or milk.

The recommended dose for adults depend from type of disease:

To Control Severe Nausea and Vomiting

The usual dosage is one 5-milligram or 10-milligram tablet 3 or 4 times a day.

For Non-psychotic Anxiety

The usual dose is 5 milligrams, taken 3 or 4 times a day.

Relatively Mild Schizophrenia

The usual dose is 5 or 10 milligrams, taken 3 or 4 times daily.

Moderate to Severe Schizophrenia

Dosages usually start at 10 milligrams, taken 3 or 4 times a day.

More Severe Schizophrenia

Dosages may range from 100 to 150 milligrams per day.

The recommended dose for children also depends from type of disease, weight and their age:

Children under 2 years of age or weighing less than 20 pounds should not be given Compazine.

For Severe Nausea and Vomiting

An oral of Compazine is usually not needed for more than 1 day.

Children 20 to 29 Pounds

The common dose is 2-0.5 mg 1 or 2 times daily. Do not give over 7.5 mg daily.

Children 30 to 39 Pounds

The usual dose is 2-0.5 mg 2 or 3 times daily. Do not give over 10 mg daily.

Children 40 to 85 Pounds

The usual dose is 2-0.5 mg 3 times daily, or 5 mg 2 times daily. Do not give over 15 mg.

For Psychotic Disorders

Children 2 to 5 Years Old

The starting oral or rectal dose is 2-0.5 mg 2 or 3 times daily. Do not give over 10 mg the first day and 20 mg thereafter.

Children 6 to 12 Years Old

The starting oral or rectal dose is 2-0.5 mg 2 or 3 times daily. Do not give over 10 mg the first day and 25 mg thereafter.

Precautions

Use Compazine with cautions in people with hepatic or renal disease, glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, severe asthma, prolonged use, cardiovascular disease, epilepsy. Do not use in children under 5 years age. Compazine should not be used during pregnancy, becoming pregnant or lactating without doctor's advice.Do not use Compazine before breast-feeding without doctor's permission.

Contraindications

Compazine is not allowed to people who are hypersensitive to any components of this drug. Contraindicated in people with severe toxic CNS depression, coma, subcortical brain damage, bone marrow depression,severe liver or cardiac disease, narrow-angle glaucoma, pediatric surgery.



Possible side effect

They may include call types of an allergic reaction. Also the most possible side effects include:

twitching or uncontrollable movements of your eyes, tongue, lips, face, arms, or legs;

tremor, drooling, trouble swallowing, problems with balance or walking;

feeling restless, jittery, or agitated;

high fever, stiff muscles, confusion, sweating, fast or uneven heartbeats, rapid breathing;

feeling like you might pass out;

seizure (black-out or convulsions);

decreased night vision, tunnel vision, watery eyes, increased sensitivity to light;

nausea and stomach pain, skin rash, and jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);

pale skin, easy bruising or bleeding, fever, sore throat, flu symptoms;

urinating less than usual or not at all;

joint pain or swelling with fever, swollen glands, muscle aches, chest pain, vomiting, unusual thoughts or behavior, and patchy skin color;

slow heart rate, weak pulse, fainting, slow breathing (breathing may stop).

Less serious include:

dizziness, drowsiness, anxiety;

sleep problems (insomnia), strange dreams;

dry mouth, stuffy nose;

blurred vision;

constipation;

breast swelling or discharge;

a missed menstrual period;weight gain, swelling in your hands or feet;

impotence, trouble having an orgasm;

mild itching or skin rash;

headache.

If you experience one of them stop using Compazine and tell your doctor as soon as possible. Also consult with your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual.



Drug interaction

Also note that interaction between two medications does not always mean that you

must stop taking one of them. As usual it affects the the effect of drugs, so consult with your doctor about how it interactions are being managed or should be managed.



Missed dose

If you forgot to take your dose in time, please do it as soon as you remember. But do not take if it is too late or almost time for your next dose. Do not increase your recommended dose. Take your usually dose next day in the same regularly time.



Overdose

Sympotms of Compazine overdose may include dry mouth, constipation, bloating or stomach cramps, extreme drowsiness or feeling restless and agitated, changes in heart rate, fever, and fainting. If you experience one of them or any unusual symptoms call your doctor immediately.

Precautions

Tell your doctor about all your conditions, especially if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, breastfeeding, if you have any allergies, if you have a history of blood clots, blood problems, high blood cholesterol levels, heart problems, or lung or breathing problems, if you have a history of an enlarged prostate; prolonged, painful erections; liver or kidney problems; seizures (eg, epilepsy); glaucoma; stomach or bowel problems; or dementia, if you have poor health, diabetes, or a family member with diabetes, or you are very overweight, if you have decreased activity of enzymes that metabolize certain medicines.

You should not to take Clozaril if you have allergy to it, you have severe drowsiness, you have uncontrolled seizures (epilepsy) or loss of bowel muscle movement (paralytic ileus), you have bone marrow problems, other blood cell problems, or a history of blood problems caused by Clozaril, you are taking other medicines that may cause blood problems.



Possible side effects

The most common side effects are dry mouth, headache, dizziness, heartburn, increased sweating or saliva production, lightheadedness when you stand up; nausea; strange dreams; trouble sleeping; weight gain.

Severe side effects include: severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); agitation; calf pain or tenderness; chest pain; confusion; dark urine; decreased coordination; fainting; fast or irregular heartbeat; fever, chills, or sore throat; increased hunger, thirst, or urination; infection; involuntary movements of the tongue, face, mouth, or jaw (tongue sticking out, puffing of cheeks, mouth puckering, chewing movements); loss of appetite; numbness of an arm or leg; rapid breathing; restlessness; seizures; severe headache, dizziness, or vomiting; severe or persistent nausea or constipation; severe stomach pain; shortness of breath; stiff muscles; sudden, unusual weight gain; swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet; tremor; trouble swallowing; uncontrolled muscle movements; unusual mental or mood changes; unusual tiredness or weakness; vision changes; vomiting; yellowing of the skin or eyes.



Drug interaction

Tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking and especially: benzodiazepines (lorazepam) or other medicines for mental or mood problems because the risk of heart or breathing problems may be increased; cimetidine, erythromycin, quinolone antibiotics (ciprofloxacin), risperidone, or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) (eg, fluoxetine) because they may increase the risk of Clozaril's side effects; barbiturates (phenobarbital), hydantoins (phenytoin), nicotine, or rifampin because they may decrease Clozaril's effectiveness ; antiarrhythmics (eg, propafenone, quinidine), anticholinergics (benztropine), carbamazepine, debrisoquin, dextromethorphan, medicines for depression or high blood pressure, phenothiazines (chlorpromazine), or tricyclic antidepressants (amitriptyline) because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Clozaril.



Missed dose

If you miss a dose of Clozaril, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once. If you miss taking a dose of Clozaril for more than 2 days do not start taking it again. Contact your doctor right away for instructions.



Overdose

Common use Strattera contains atomoxetine Hcl, which is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor of presynaptic norepinephrine vectors used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Manifestations of ADHD detected in more than one social environment include lack of concentration, distractibility, excessive restlessness, impulsiveness, disorganization, restlessness, and other similar conduct disorders. Dosage and direction Take it once or twice daily with or without food. Take the capsules whole, do not crush them and sprinkle on food. If Strattera should be canceled, it does not require a gradual reduction of the dose. The recommended initial dose in children, adolescents and adults with body weight over 70 kg is 40 mg. It should be increased to a therapeutic daily dose of 80 mg not earlier than in three days. If the symptoms do not improve the maximal daily dose of Strattera may be increased to maximal daily dose of 120 mg not earlier than 2-4 weeks after start of the treatment. Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, do not take more of this medication than your doctor recommended. Precautions Inform your doctor if you have hypertension, tachycardia, cardiovascular or cerebrovascular circulation disorders, congenital heart defect, coronary artery disease, heart disease, a heart rhythm disorder, high or low blood pressure, heart attack not so long ago, or have a condition which can cause arterial hypotension. Notify your doctor if you have liver disease, high or low blood pressure, problems with urination, and also bipolar illness, mental illness, psychotic disorder, depression, or suicide attempt in history. It is not known how this medication may affect an unborn baby so Strattera should be administered to pregnant women only if a potential benefit from it use exceeds possible risks. Contraindications Strattera is contraindicated in the patients concomitantly treated by MAO inhibitors (Pirlindole, metralindol, Moclobemide, Nialamide) and within 14 days after the treatment with MAO was discontinued, individuals with closure-angle glaucoma, hypersensitivity to the medication. Side effects Adverse reactions to Strattera include allergy symptoms (hives, rash, facial swelling, edema), dry mouth, decreased appetite, nausea, upset stomach, vomiting, dizziness, tiredness, changes in mood, problems to fall asleep, dizziness, difficulty urination, and sexual side effects. More serious side effects which you should report about immediately to your doctor if they become bothersome are fast or uneven heartbeats, chest pain, shortness of breath, feeling light-headed or fainting, low fever, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice, increased blood pressure, decreased urination or anuria. Drug interaction This medication cannot be co-administered with MAO inhibitors, a break between the last MAO inhibitors intake such as Nardil (phenelzine sulfate) and Parnate (tranylcypromine sulfate) and administration of Strattera should be at least 14 days long. Fluoxetine (Prozac), paroxetine (Paxil), quinidine, may incrase blood levels of Strattera due to inhibition of the liver enzyme that eliminates atomoxetine from the body. Inform your doctor about all medications and herbal products you use including albuterol (Proventil, Ventolin), bupropion (Wellbutrin, Zyban), cimetidine (Tagamet), amiodarone (Cordarone, Pacerone), celecoxib (Celebrex), methadone (Methadose, Dolophine), quinidine (Quinidex, Cardioquin, Quinaglute), doxorubicin (Adriamycin), ranitidine (Zantac), terbinafine (Lamisil), metoclopramide (Reglan), ritonavir (Norvir). Missed dose If you forgot to take your dose in time, please do it as soon as you remember. But do not take if it is too late or time for your next dose is in a short while. Do not take double doses of this medication or extra doses of it. Take your usually dose next day in the same regularly time. Overdose The majority of reported Strattera overdose effects were moderate. They included tachycardia and dry mouth, convulsions, hyperactivity, behavioral disorders, drowsiness or agitation, stomach upset, mydriasis (an excessive dilation of the pupil), blurred vision, drowsiness, and fast heartbeat. Storage Store at room temperature between 20-25 C (68-77 F). Store away from moisture, heat, and sunlight. It is not recommended to store in a bathroom and places available for children.
